Elaine enjoys bold statements and strong colors, preferring a loose, impressionistic rendering of what she sees.  She enjoys playing with her art, and finds joy in the everyday world around her. Humor, whimsy and a bit of mischief find their way in her work and she cherishes the connection with her public.

Elaine Schaefer Hudson has been exploring various media since her 20's, and is working in watercolor most recently.  Curious about technique, fascinated by color, the world holds unlimited avenues to explore.  Her art degree comes from UCSD, and she continues to enroll in various classes from local colleges, instructors and fellow artists. “One is never too old to learn something new.” 

These watercolors and oils are the work of the last several years as she explored both new and familiar mediums . These pieces are  inspired by the world around her, her imagination and from places like Tahoe, Tehachapi, Palm Desert, Point Arena and various locations in California.
